Doing Life Together

Life Groups

Life Groups will soon be starting!  These small group discussions in hosts’ homes or online provide an opportunity to dive more deeply into one of Wendy’s former series while connecting with others in our community.

This spring’s series- "Anchored in Spiritual Truth: Finding Peace in Turbulent Times"- is based on Wendy’s relevant and inspiring lessons last April.  You may remember them. The times have not become any less "turbulent" since then, so I hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to find peace, anchor yourself in love, shift your focus, and reclaim your power.

Once a week for six weeks, Life Group participants will gather in small groups in volunteer hosts’ homes to review the videos of Reverend Wendy’s lessons and to engage in rich guided discussions. In addition, each group will plan its own social activity and volunteer project in the community or at The Unity Center.

If you’re interested in joining a Life Group, sign up ahead of time as groups do fill.  On Sunday, March 1st, hosts will be out on the patio to answer any questions and help you find the right group. Sign-ups will continue online through Sunday, March 8th.  Groups start meeting the week of Sunday, March 15th, and end the week of April 19th.  The closing potluck will be on Sunday, April 26th. FAQs

What are Life Groups?

Life groups are weekly small group gatherings held in person at hosts’ homes, at The Unity Center, or in another community venue, such as a clubhouse or library throughout the year. Gatherings last about 1-½ hours to 2 hours. (A virtual group is available).

Sign-ups are for three weeks with spaces limited by how many hosts are available. Groups meet for seven weeks of study and discussion based on videos of Rev. Wendy’s talks on the topic.

What Are The Goals Of Life Groups?

  • Come together in small groups for greater connections with each other, our Center, and our greater community

  • Viewing of video segments of Rev. Wendy’s talk on the current topic

  • Discussion of questions on the segments shown

  • Wrap-up and announcements

  • Pray out

  • Refreshments and social time

(Participants are encouraged to take an active role in the group by signing up to pray in or out, lead the discussion, keep track of time, provide refreshments, etc.)

What Additional Activities Are Included?

  • Social Activity - Each group organizes a social activity everyone can join, such as having dinner together, going to a movie or other event, or taking a walk or hike.
